Wilson's was founded in 1924 when Fred I. Wilson purchased a small general store at the head of Station Road in Barrington Passage. He firmly established the business in the next 20 years, providing quality products, the best of friendly service and community involvement.
Fred's son, Walter "Buzz" Wilson took over the business in 1944 and under his leadership, the business grew, adding a modern grocery store in 1961, and developing all areas of business.
In 1994, the food business was sold to Sobey's organization, and a modern Home Hardware Building Centre was built adjacent tot he new Sobey's store. The Furniture, Clothing and Gifts stores consolidated in the previous food store.
Today, Wilson's is a modern retail company, operating a Home Hardware Building Centre and a Home Furniture Store.
David Wilson is now President of the company, and Walter Wilson sits on the Company Advisory Board.
We still take pride in providing quality products, the best customer service and community participation to the residents of Barrington Municipality and beyond.
